i always knew that the ear was made of of cartalige not bone but there is so much more to the ear that we don't know. there are three bones in our ear that make our ear so special. most mammals have thios but fish only have one. it leads to how did the other two bones come from?
The ears was always made by cartalige but i never knew that we would have bones like structure in them. But there are a lot of parts to the ear that are very sentiative. But yet there are some animals that might only have one ear but some have a very good sense of hearing that is a lot better than ours. -Ashley Vargas
I understood that humans were unique in many of our abilities and features, but I never thought that some of our most distinctive would be in our ears. I also found it kind of strange that we have a kind of "gel" in our ears. I didn't know that ears have anything to do with humans getting "space sick" or spinning when we are drunk. I guess everything in our bodies is intertwined. -Morgan Wininger
Hearing is one of those senses that are also sometimes taken for granted. You don't really think about the inner workings of one's ear. I never thought about how the gill arch that would form the jaw of a reptile would eventually form the ear bones in mammals. And when it comes to people, I never knew that the inner ear, which is used for hearing, also tells the brain which way our head is tilted and how fast our head is accelerating or stopping. The connections that all the inner workings our bodies have really is intriguing. -Loremae Mopera

I thought it was cool how some animals have less ears then we do and have a higher sense of hearing than we do.
