this chapter was amazing in that there is so much to an eye then i evr thought that there was. our eye is one big machine that is all ways working and is all ways focusing on things. i found that there was a gene that controls if u have eyes or not. since knowing this we can tell if someone with eye problems has something wrong with this gene.
The eye is the most amazing thing to us humans. The eye is the the thing in our bodies that controls us when we want to go somewhere or do something. And the genes in the eye is like no other genes. -Ashley Vargas
Our eyes are really cool. As our eyes evolve our visual acuity increases. We need every part of our to see the whole picture of something right in front of us.
Reading about Shubin's discovery of the fossilized salamander, I can't even imagine the excitement he must have felt. I think we are privileged in seeing as many colors as we do, thanks to our three receptors, as opposed to the to other mammals have, making them able to distinguish fewer colors. -Morgan Wininger
Most of us like to take our sight for granted. You learn the importance of light in order to see, and it's even more amusing to see it in an example using cupcakes. You learn how it is the eye functions, and that one gene can determine the properties of eyes. The fact that this one gene can determine the placement and attributes of your eyes is an impressive thing. -Loremae Mopera
