  1. I thought it was really interesting how our human embryos look really similar to shark embryos. We are two very different animals and look so similar during development.

  2. I found the fetus with the arch was interesting on how the nerves and arteries were developed in these arches and how sharks also have these arches but smaller.

  3. this chapter is summarized in pretty much three letters, wow, it was very cool to find out that at one point in our development that we look just like other animals, (it makes reference to shark in the book), and truth be told i never imagined that humans could look like sharks, or sharks look like humans at any stage of life (before or after birth) very cool

  5. Chapter 5 told me so much about how humans are related to other creatures, as far as body structures go. The comparison between shark heads and human heads, and even those of smaller fish helped me understand what Shubin was talking about. The nerves in the face and head surprised me because I thought they would be smaller, somehow less major.

  6. When you read this book, you think that you're looking for 'Your Inner Fish' yet somehow we find that we also can relate to worms and sharks. In this chapter you learn the workings of your head. That the four arches which form our heads relate to sharks. And things like how there are 12 nerves that supply the muscles in our heads we use to bite, talk, and move our eyes and head. These kinds of facts really make you think about what's on your head, not just with it.
